Basic Information On Non Certified Student Loans-Are These Still Around?

Non Certified Student Loans

Are non certified student loans sounds too good to be true? Well, for students who are looking for alternatives to finance their college education, these might be just what they need. The choices out there are limited, though. So, before you sign up for one, be sure to know the important facts about non certified student loans.

Let SimpleTuition find the right student loan for you.

It is really not a big surprise if students seek out just about any financial programs in order to cover the whole cost of their college education. And non certified student loans are certainly attractive options. As what the name suggests, colleges and universities don’t have to review and verify these.

If you’re enrolled below half-time, you might be in luck. There are other lenders (like Wells Fargo) that don’t use this as an approval basis. But they do require students to be enrolled in an eligible school while pursuing a degree, licensing, or certification program. A cosigner is needed if you have a bad credit and don’t meet their other requirements.

Just like other alternative student loans, the interest rates for these are variable. And most of the time the rates could be higher compared to education loans with certification. To entice borrowers, lenders could offer certain interest reduction programs. They could offer to lower your loan interest after graduation, for instance.

These can be good options, especially if you’ve already maxed out your federal education loans. However, you have to remember that lenders will still run a credit check as part of their approval process. That’s why you should really try to secure a cosigner with good, if not outstanding, credit history.

The amount that you can borrow is really not that big, around $120,000 in total, more or less. Since these are only supplementary funds, it is totally your choice if you wish to partner these with alternative loans. If you’re employed, try asking if your company has any available postgraduate scholarships.

Repayments don’t begin not until 6 months after you graduate or leave school. But you can still extend this if you meet the criteria. There is also a catch. Repayments could still start even while you’re in school if your number of years exceeds 5 years after the first disbursement date.

Are there any other fees involved? Unfortunately, the answer is “Yes.” Again, companies could have a different policy on this. You could be asked for an origination fee, which is used to cover the cost of processing your loan. Don’t forget to clarify this matter when choosing an education loan with no school certification.

By now, you might have already known that these are not exactly very easy to find. To get faster results, try asking your friends for suggestions; or you could also post your concern online to get a leads list. Make sure to carefully weigh your options first before getting non certified student loans.
